Paris, France
In June 2003, Carol and Jim visited Paris, France. We booked the trip
through Go-today, recommended by Jim's
brother Ed who has had good experiences with them when traveling to London and Paris. This is the first
international trip we have taken that was not a tour group - we were on our own
for eight days. We made extensive use of the Metro.
Our principle guide books were
Rick Steves' Paris 2003 (again recommended by Ed) and
Fodor's
Paris 2003. The Rick Steves book was excellent (although irreverent at times
:-), and was the basis for many of our day trips. The Fodor's book was
better for restaurant listings and descriptions.
