One of our favorite places is Bar
Harbor, ME and Acadia National Park,
about a 5-6 hour drive from home. We have been there twice, most recently
in August 2001.
Both times we have taken a whale
watch cruise which also passes by Petit Manan
Island, home to a colony of Atlantic Puffins and other nesting sea birds.
